Kalyazin Bell Tower and Uglich Reservoir. Aerial view over the bell tower of the flooded St. Nicholas Monastery surrounded by the frozen Uglich Reservoir, Kalyazin, Russia. The Uglich Reservoir lies in the upper part of the Volga River and is formed by the Uglich Hydroelectric Station dam. It's construction in 1939 caused the flooding of the 18th Century Saint Nicholas Monastery leaving only its bell tower visible above the water. The Troitsky Makariev Monastery was also flooded.
